From My Perspective

Have A Good Day

Mike, my husband encountered an unfortunate circumstance at work and came home a bit discouraged last night.  Even after a delicious dinner he was having a hard time shaking it off.

This morning when I got out of bed, I found him reading in our great room.  I walked over to him and said, “It’s going to be a good day!” and kissed him on the cheek.  He signed and nodded his head in agreement as I continued walking toward the coffee maker.  As I approached the kitchen, I said it again, “It’s going to be a good day!”.

I poured a cup of freshly ground and brewed Starbucks and turned toward the refrigerator to top it with a skosh of skim milk…my favorite!  I could taste it before I even had a sip.

After opening the door to grab the milk, I found an orange colored notepaper taped to the half-full jug of milk with a handwritten message from my daughter.  It read, “Sorry mom, I forgot to put the milk back in the fridge last night, do you think it will still be okay?”

Knowing it would not POSSIBLY be okay, I moaned loudly.  I sighed.  I growled.  I was BUMMED!

A voice came sweetly from the great room.  ”It’s going to be a great day, It’s going to be a great day”.

Right then I knew I had a choice… and so I made one.  It was going to be a good day!

You have a good day too.
